Kona here again, reporting to you from the East River Esplanade’s New Wave Pier Dog run. Just want to give you some updates.
New Compostable dog waste bags
The dog waste dispensers will be stocked with new compostable bags! We’ll be phasing out the black plastic bags with the new green ones.
Fixed: storm drain plate
The storm drain plate on the small dog run side has been welded shut. Thanks to the NYC Parks team!
A few of our neighbors have noticed that the rough waters from the river would sometimes lift the plate off its base. The NYC Parks team responded quickly and welded the problem plate.
Welcome our new Volunteers
Our fellow neighbors and furry dog run regulars have stepped up to help keep the dog run clean! You might see them in the dog run, refilling the bag dispensers or sweeping the grounds. If you see them, say “hello” and “thank you”. 
Requesting Feedback: Project ideas
